Guild Meeting Thursday, March 21, 6:30 – 8:45 pm West Valley Library 2880 W 3650 S, West Valley
The March agenda includes Notion of the Month, a bit about last month’s QuiltCon, more information on “modern traditionalism” and of course Show and Tell, and time to chat!
Please come and join us this Saturday, 17th February from 11:30am-5:30pm at South Jordan Library, 10673 S Redwood Rd, South Jordan, UT 84095.
It’s always more fun and supportive to sew with friends. We will be meeting to work on our own projects or maybe continue working on our minimalist pieces from the January workshop. Don’t worry if you don’t have any specific that needs attention (lol), you could help by sewing up some blocks for our charity quilts.
Bring your sewing machine, notions and projects (if you have any). We will provide an ironing station, cutting mats and rotary cutters. Come relax, build community and have fun 🙂
Thursday 17th October – 6:30pm-8:45pm – The Grace Company, 6748 S Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84084
We will start the meeting at 6:30 with a social 30 mins “Yappy Hour”. Get to know your other Guild members.
This evening we will be looking at the upcoming opportunities available on SLMQG’s Board. There will be a number of vacancies on the Board in 2025. We ask you to consider contributing to our vibrant guild. We have a wonderful guild and need some of our wonderful members to help it grow and keep it running smoothly.
Do you have ideas for workshops and speakers you’d like to see visit our guild? Can you help with social media? Help on sub-committees for events and challenges? Are you a whizz with finances? Could you help organize and set up events or procure prizes or sponsorship from quilty businesses?
Tonight we will go over the various positions available, what sort of a commitment is requested, and how to vote.
YOUR GUILD NEEDS YOU!!!!
Member Spotlight
This month our member spot light will be long time member, Sarah Oviatt. Find out about Sarah’s quilting journey and what interests and motivates her.
Show and Tell is back this month. Can’t wait to see what you’ve been creating 🙂
So many of our Guild members have quilt-related businesses, work with different fabric lines as ambassadors, or teach classes locally and at Quilt-Con, and we want to know more! If you are willing to share your story, talents, products, please look for the sign-up sheet at February’s meeting and we look forward to scheduling a small spot for you at a future meeting.
At our February meeting, we’ll have a sign-up sheet for our notion of the month moment. Choose your favorite notion, purchase one, and bring it to the meeting. You’ll have time to explain why you love it and then one lucky member chosen randomly will win your notion. And the entire guild will learn something new. I’ve purchased at least 10 notions that were shared at our meetings.
Note – the guild will reimburse you up to $20 for your notion purchase. Save your receipt and give it to our treasurer, Andrea Steenburgh.
