This year’s retreat is now full. But if you are lucky enough to have already booked your overnight retreat, or if you are coming as a day sewer, here is a suggested check list, so you don’t forget anything vital! Although, if you do, you will be able to purchase last minute sewing items from The Quilter’s Lodge (using your 10% discount!).
This is just a suggested list and obviously should be adapted to your needs :
- Sewing machine including pedal and power cord
- Extension table for your machine
- Extension cord, just in case
- Different threads
- Separate thread/spool holder
- Extra bobbins, possibly pre-wound
- Extra needles
- Rotary cutter and extra blades
- Snips and scissors
- Mini iron and ironing mat/table (large irons and ironing boards are provided by the Lodge)
- Travel cutting mat for your table (again, large cutting mats are provided at cutting stations)
- Pins and/or wonderclips
- Seam ripper
- Extra sewing machine feet (walking foot and a regular foot)
- Sewing machine tools (screwdriver, lint brush etc)
- Erasable fabric marker
- Specialty rulers for your projects
- Pressing spray
- Extra fabric and fabric scraps
- And don’t forget your projects! Bring one more than you think you’ll need. It’s always good to have a choice of projects, if one proves too vexing or you need a change. Also, you don’t want to run out of things to sew 😉
If you’re going to be joining in with the additional projects, bring some of your favorite scrap strips for the rope bowls and selvages with text to spell out your name. Rope will be provided and some scraps, in case you forget.
