August Recap

We had a great time at Hands on Art in August. Iraima, the owner was great to go over the color wheel and break it down for us. She recommended this color wheel. It comes in a bigger size too. Here’s a great site that breaks down the definitions of the basic color relationships: Complementary, Monochromatic, Analogous, Analogous, Triadic and Tetradic.

We then went through the quilts we shared and looked for these color relationships. Afterwards we played with scraps of fabrics and found these color relationships.

So many details in this beautiful quilt by Kim

Top quilt by Barbie and bottom quilts by Marcea

Top L by JaNean using fabrics Barbie dyed. Top R Mindy’s baby quilt. Bottom two by Sylvia

For those that missed out, there’s a Creative Webinar coming up next month on the Color Wheel for quilts. Make sure you sign up online. Also check out this months’ pattern: Positively Transparent for some Color Wheel fun.

Some projects from Sewing Saturday. We missed those that couldn’t make it.
